Tulle corset dress with spaghetti straps

This tulle midi dress combines a fitted corset bodice with a full, layered tulle skirt. The bodice has a sweetheart neckline with gathered cups and a ruffled tulle edge, vertical boning seams and a thin tie at the waist. Below it, the skirt falls softly in layers of tulle to mid-calf. At the back, the thin straps cross over, leaving the back nicely open.

How it fits

The bodice is fitted and closes snugly around the bust and waist, as a corset should. It has little give, so choose your size by your bust and waist measurements rather than your usual letter size. The skirt is full and flares from the waist, so you can move and dance freely.

Where to wear it

As a wedding guest, at a cocktail party, a gala or a birthday dinner. Black and wine red are the choice for an evening party or the holidays, pink, purple, yellow and blue for a garden party or a summer wedding, and rust brown for an autumn celebration. Wear it with heeled sandals and fine jewellery, as the neckline and tulle skirt already stand out. On cooler evenings, add a short blazer or a bolero.

Care

Tulle is delicate and does not tolerate heat. Hand wash the dress in cold water, or wash it inside out in a laundry bag on a cold delicate cycle, and follow the care label. Do not tumble dry and do not iron: hang the dress on a hanger to dry and remove creases in the tulle with steam.
