Note the height before you order: these are ankle boots for men, not tall boots. The shaft ends just above the ankle bone and disappears under straight trousers or turned-up jeans. Just right if you want a brown boot that looks smart without standing out.

Which size to choose

These boots run small, so order one size larger than you usually wear: if you normally wear a 43, choose a 44. If you normally wear a 41, choose a 42.5, as this style doesn't come in a 42. The size chart on this page already allows for the small fit: it shows the matching foot length in centimetres for each size, from 24.3 cm at size 38.5 to 28.5 cm at size 47. Measure your foot at the end of the day, when it's at its largest, and choose the size that matches that length. If you're between two sizes, take the larger one.

What to wear them with

Under straight or slightly tapered jeans, with the leg turned up or resting just on the shaft, as shown in the photos. They work just as well under chinos or corduroy trousers, with a jumper or shirt on top.
