These platform trainers for women put an ordinary low trainer on a thick, straight sole. The upper stays low and sits below the ankle bones, so you keep the freedom of a trainer, but you stand noticeably taller and your trouser leg falls longer straight away. The sole runs flat from heel to toe, without a slope, which makes the shoe sit more steadily than a wedge.

The upper is made in a smooth faux leather look and built up from separate panels with stitching in the same shade. On the side there's a large perforated panel, and on the toe a smaller group of holes, which lets air through and softens the crisp white a little. Everything is white: the upper, the sole and the flat laces, and there's no logo anywhere.

How to wear them

A solid white shoe with a thick sole does most of the work in a simple outfit. With straight jeans or wide trousers, the sole makes the silhouette heavier at the bottom, which makes the upper body look narrower. Let your trousers fall right onto the sole, so the whole line keeps flowing.

With a skirt or a dress it works the other way round: there the contrast between a fine fabric and a sturdy sole creates the tension. Wear a short sock or a trainer sock with them, since the low upper shows the ankle anyway. You'll find more styles in our shoe collection.

Size and fit

Note: this style runs small. Order a size larger than you normally wear, and if you're unsure between two sizes, choose the larger of the two.

The size chart on this page shows the foot length in centimetres for each size, from 23 cm at size 36 to 25 cm at size 40. Measure your foot at the end of the day, standing up and wearing the sock you'll wear with the shoe, and compare that length with the chart. That works more accurately than going by your usual size.

Care

Wipe the upper clean with a damp cloth and a drop of mild soap, then dry it straight away. You can get the sole white again with an eraser or a soft brush. Let the shoes dry at room temperature and don't put them on the radiator, as the glue between the sole and upper could come loose there. Not machine washable.
