These men's dress shoes have a soft, matte suede look that makes a classic lace-up instantly more relaxed. They are derby shoes: the lacing flaps are stitched on top of the vamp instead of underneath. That gives the familiar, slightly sportier silhouette and more room to adjust the fit to your instep. Handy if you have a higher instep or want a little extra room at the end of the day.

The shoe comes in two versions. Black, blue, coffee and grey have a completely smooth toe with no perforations or stitching at the front, visible stitching along the sole and a low block heel. That keeps the look calm, so the shoe works as well with a suit as with jeans. Navy and cognac are wingtip brogues with decorative perforations on a flat, sporty sole with a striped edge. Those two are more casual and stand out more.

How to wear them

Black is the safe choice for the office, a wedding or a funeral: wear them with dark trousers and a shirt, and you will always get it right. Coffee works well with sand or olive chinos and a blazer without a tie. Grey and blue are more casual shades and look surprisingly good with dark jeans and a fine-knit jumper. The navy and cognac brogues stand out the most: pair them with chinos or light jeans and an overshirt or blazer, on your days off too.

Size and fit

Please note: this style runs small. It is best to choose your size by foot length, using the size chart on this page. It converts each size into foot length in centimetres, from 24 cm for size 38 to 29 cm for size 48, and already allows for the small fit. So do not add another size on top. If your foot length falls between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Measure your foot at the end of the day, standing and wearing the socks you plan to wear with the shoes. If you cannot measure, order one size larger than you normally wear.

Care

Before wearing them for the first time, treat the upper with a protective spray suitable for suede and nubuck. After that, brush the shoes regularly when dry with a soft suede brush, always in the same direction, to keep the finish looking good. Remove stains with a suede eraser, not with soap and water. Let wet shoes dry at room temperature, away from the radiator, and use a shoe tree or scrunched-up paper to keep their shape. Do not machine wash.
